Thank you! In fact I didn’t know what “water tower” was, and that’s why I decided to draw it (among the ~600 themes). So I looked up Wikipedia and that’s where it began – a series of accidents. 😉

If you look here on this post I did some time back, you will see a typical example of the ones we have around here in Philadelphia, the bland shaped ones as you mention, but I get a laugh at them now because, since they are usually situated on a high point to give the best water pressure, most of them are doing an extra job — https://claudiamcgill.wordpress.com/2015/10/29/autumn-2015-poetry-marathon-day-4/

What are those growths – are they antennas? Extra jobs, barnacles, … that’s certainly something of an image!

They are cell phone antennas. All the water towers around me now have them. Because usually water towers are situated on high ground they are good places for the antennas. I think they look hilarious.

Thank you! Pen is still a difficult medium for me (you may spot mistakes at the bottom and elsewhere). I would hope to be able to draw more freely but I guess it will take time. (Also a loose style, if not done well, may make it hard to understand what’s going on in an imagined piece like this.)
